Physical Education Purpose and Focus:Physical education is an integral part of the total educational program. It contributes to the development of the individual in the cognitive, affective and psychomotor domains, primarily through his/her participation in physical activities.

- has learned the skills necessary to perform a variety of physical activities;
- is physically fit;
- participates regularly in physical activities;
- knows the implications and the benefits from involvement in physical activities;

Developmental/Adaptive Physical EducationDevelopmental/Adaptive Physical Education provides an educational support system for students who cannot safely or successfully participate in the regular physical education class. Developmental/Adapted Physical Education recognizes the individual differences of learners and emphasizes a continuum of development. Through instruction in carefully planned programs of diversified activities, students develop greater degrees of social independence, physical well being, emotional stability, and problem solving abilities.
